CIMB Thai Bank partnered with 8 universities inviting students to apply the regional online trading competition, 'CIMB ASEAN YOUTH STOCK CHALLENGE 2012'

CIMB Group has been organizing on-line share trading competitions for university students since 2010 and every year we make it bigger and better. This year, university students from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand will be able to trade virtually on all four (4) exchanges - Bursa Malaysia, IDX, SGX and SET. Dr. Kongpob Watanasin, Executive Vice President, Human Resources Management Division Head, CIMB Thai Bank said that “It’s a great opportunity to apply your knowledge to experience virtual business circumstances in stock market trading namely Bursa Malaysia, IDX, SGX and SET. This could be one of your first stages to get yourself familiar with the upcoming AEC.” The stock challenge will be opened to undergraduates of selected universities. Below are some salient points about the stock challenge: ? Participants must be between 18-29 years old at the time of registration and should register in teams of four (4). ? Participants are studying in Kasetsart University, Thammasat University, Chulalongkorn University, Prince of Songkla University, Khon Kaen University, Chiang Mai University, Mahidol University or Assumption University. ? Participants will receive a virtual startup capital of USD80,000 and compete in a stock trading challenge via a trading website for 3 weeks. ? There will be a National and Regional Level. ? At the National Level, the top three (3) teams from each country with the highest Net Realized Percentage will be required to produce a Strategy Paper. ? The best Strategy Paper from each country will proceed to the Regional Level and present their Strategy Paper to a panel of Regional Judges. ? The Grand Finale will be held at SGX Centre, Singapore on 10 Nov 2012, where the flight and accommodation expenses will be borne by CIMB Group.
