Merlin Entertainments Group Acquires Siam Ocean World

Following the company’s recent acquisition of Living and Leisure Australia Group’s 10 attractions in Asia Pacific, Merlin Entertainments Group (‘Merlin), the world’s second largest visitor attraction operator has now taken over one of Bangkok’s biggest and most popular attractions, and South East Asia’s largest aquarium – Siam Ocean World. This not only underlines Merlin’s position as the world’s premier aquarium operator with its SEA LIFE brand; but also complements the company’s other fast growing business in the city – the iconic Madame Tussauds Bangkok wax attraction, opened last year in the Siam Centre and managed by General Manager Paul Williams. Merlin is looking to make a significant investment in the aquarium, making it an even more exciting and must-do attraction for anyone visiting the city, and the local team, together with Merlin’s global marine experts will be working on these plans over the coming months.
