KPMG hosts “Trade and Investment in Myanmar” seminar in conjunction with the Federation of Thai Industries

On the morning of Wednesday 20 April 2011, KPMG Thailand hosted the seminar "Trade and Investment in Myanmar" in conjunction with the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI). Over 90 representatives from Thai SMEs and corporations with an interest in doing business in Myanmar gathered to listen to specialist speakers from KPMG. Topics on Myanmar ranged from macroeconomic environment to tax and regulatory structure. Mr. Mangkorn Dhanasarnsilp (Vice Chairman of the FTI) opened the seminar, followed by presentations from Ms. Yaovaluk Likitwattananurak (partner, KPMG), Dr. Nimnual Piewthongngam (tax manager, KPMG) and Mr. Charoen Phosamritlert (partner at KPMG). Mr. John Andes (partner, KPMG, not pictured) also shared his on-the-ground experience in Myanmar and knowledge of the country’s tax structure. FTI supports Thailand’s private sector to promote sustainable industrialization, synchronize with national economic development processes, and ensure protection of the Thai national interest in the global economy.
