Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced that sales and marketing veteran Ms. Janine Watton has been appointed director of sales and marketing at Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok, Sukhumvit 15, the hotel group’s first Four Points by Sheraton property in Thailand.
Watton will be responsible for maximizing overall revenue and fostering relationships with the hotel’s business, group and meetings clientele. Focusing on seamlessly delivering the simple pleasures of honest, uncomplicated comfort – a Four Points by Sheraton hallmark -- Thailand’s first Four Points by Sheraton is set to open in October 2010.

Watton most recently served as director of sales and marketing at The Westin, Kuala Lumpur, where she successfully converted hotel and brand objectives into specific goals and action plans, as well as analyzed and communicated business and financial data. Additionally, she led, coached and developed the sales and marketing teams, all while remaining adaptive and agile to lead the hotel through changing market conditions.
Watton’s history working within the Starwood sales and marketing organization, together with her broad range of managerial experience, have provided her with an in-depth knowledge of the M.I.C.E. and F.I.T. markets in both Australia and Asia. Over her career, Watton has been successful in producing anywhere from AUD$2 million to more than AUD$4.5 million for the respective hotels where she has worked.
The Australian native launched her career in sales and marketing in 1994 as a marketing coordinator at the Del Rio Resort and quickly moved up through the ranks. Watton first successfully managed the pre-opening duties of a sales executive when she joined the Sebel Parramata in July of 2000.
