The following statement was issued today by United Auto Workers (UAW) Local
2244 President Sergio Santos on the proposed closure of Toyota's NUMMI auto
plant in California and the status of the severance negotiations for NUMMI's
workers: On Wednesday March 17, 2010, the members of UAW Local 2244 will
most likely vote to accept a severance pay package offered by Toyota.
