Reckitt Benckiser Healthcare (Thailand) Ltd., distributor of Dettol Antiseptic products, launched ‘Dettol Cleaning Team’ to aid the clean-up for Duang Prateep Foundation and Satit Prasarnmitr School recently, as part of social contribution campaign to protect students and teachers from the spread of type-A (H1N1) influenza. Not only the school clean-up, the campaign also provides the schools with 7-step hand washing stickers which provides correct understanding and educate the students on practices to prevent getting germs and diseases and to keep good hygiene as a preventive measure against the outbreak of the Influenza and germs.
“Among the rapidly rising numbers of H1N1 virus-infected cases are students who came down with the flu from their schools. Schools are high-traffic areas with a high number of children, which are therefore considered as major transmission points for H1N1 virus among children. Furthermore, some Bangkok areas have become outbreak areas. Hence, cleaning up the schools will serve as initial preventive measures to contain the widespread outbreak of the disease,” said Mr. Jeroen Mustert.
“In responding to the Ministry of Public Health and Bangkok Metropolis Administration (BMA) policies of ensuring public hygiene and promoting good health and well being of the community that in line with the company’s corporate responsibility of giving back to our society, we have brought a cleaning team to clean up the school with Dettol Antiseptic Liquid which has been widely accepted and known to have highest efficacy in disinfection as a preventive measure against germ-spreading amongst the students,” concluded Mr. Jeroen Mustert.
Apart from schools clean-up, Reckitt Benckiser Healthcare (Thailand) Ltd. executive also provide the 7-step hand washing leaflets, containing useful tip to maintain good health and hygiene by washing hands frequently. The practice is recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) to effectively prevent the spreading of the flu, particularly after coughing or sneezing. As in everyday life, hands are the main germ-contact points which are also in contact with one’s eyes, nose and mouth which are the germ’s entry points into the body. Moreover, cleaning the floor and shared items are another effective prevention against germs accumulation.
In addition to the schools clean-up campaign, the company also present its Dettol products which are proven effective in killing germs including a wide range of bacteria, fungi and viruses to Foundation for Slum Child Care, Pakkred Home for Boys, The Mercy Centre, Chitralada School, Denla Kindergarten School (Rama V), Sawaddee Wittaya School and Nong Chok Pityanusorn School as part of the ongoing effort to curb the outbreak of H1N1 and other diseases.
