BASEL: Roche announced Sunday that the Phase III ATLAS study showed patients
with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who received Avastin(R)
(bevacizumab) and Tarceva (erlotinib) as combined first-line maintenance
treatment had a 39 percent improvement in the time they lived without the
disease advancing (progression-free survival or PFS, the primary endpoint of
the study), compared with those who received Avastin alone. The ATLAS study was
stopped early because of the superior efficacy for patients in the combined
treatment group.

Saturday that Induction Chemotherapy (IC) delivered prior to standard
ChemoRadiotherapy (CRT), a treatment paradigm defined as sequential therapy,
compared to upfront CRT alone, significantly prolonged Time-to-Treatment
Failure (TTF) for patients with unresectable Locally Advanced Head and Neck

BASEL: Results from the phase III RIBBON-1 study presented Friday at ASCO
showed that patients with advanced HER2-negative breast cancer who were treated
with Avastin (bevacizumab) plus the most commonly used chemotherapies lived
longer without their disease worsening (progression free survival or PFS),
compared to those being treated with chemotherapies alone.

announced preliminary data from two ongoing studies, one evaluating neratinib
(HKI-272) in combination with trastuzumab (Herceptin, Roche) in HER-2 positive
(ErbB-2 positive) breast cancer, and a separate study investigating neratinib
safety and efficacy when given with paclitaxel (Taxol, Bristol-Myers Squibb) in
patients with HER-2 dependent solid tumors.
