Nokia (Thailand) Ltd. today announced its collaboration with The Nation Multimedia Group to allow access to mobile video content from Nation channel through the Nokia Video Center application on its Nseries devices. Nokia N95, Nokia N95 8GB and Nokia N93i users will be able to enjoy three channels – Hot News, featuring daily updates from across Thailand; News Talk with noted commentator Sutthichai Yoon; and news and information from The Nation Channel on their Nokia Nseries multimedia computers. This is the first local content to be made available on the Nokia Video Center, joining global content partners such as CNN, Sony Pictures and Jamba.
Nokia Video Center delivers the best mobile experience through a single, easy-to-use interface, giving consumers access to existing video content or letting them discover new services via GPRS/EDGE, 3G or WiFi.
“This content collaboration with the Nation Multimedia Group expands the scope of quality mobile videos available to Nokia Nseries device owners in Thailand,” said Mr. Vipul Sabharwal, General Manager, Customer and Market Operations, for Nokia (Thailand) Ltd. “With these three channels of news and information from the Nation, Nokia Nseries users can always stay up-to-date with what is going on in the country. Thai consumers’ desire to watch Internet videos on mobile devices is growing all the time and we want to help users discover and access useful content in the simplest way possible.”
The content from The Nation will be available on Nokia Video Center starting from December 2007. The three channels are offered at no cost, and users only need to pay their network operator’s data transmission charges to download the content. Nokia plans to collaborate with other local content providers to offer its customers in Thailand a constantly growing choice of video content.
