professional organizations recently agreed to new educational partnerships with the Data Center University by APC program, including: the Healthcare Information and Management System Society (HIMSS), the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers, and Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI). In addition, State Engineering Boards from 18 different U.S. states will award credit for completion of Data Center University by APC courses toward maintenance of state board licenses.
“In just a few months, the Data Center University program has been able to meet a critical need for standardized training on the core issues of data center management and design,” said Adisorn Arsirakarn, Country Manager, American Power Conversion Corporation (Thailand Representative Office). The response APC has received to the Data Center University by APC curriculum with its foundational level and advanced courses has been overwhelmingly positive, leading to this quarter’s course expansion.”
“Since launching Data Center University by APC, thousands of IT professionals, engineers and facilities managers have completed coursework. In addition, we have received the support and expertise of a number of leading professional organizations that further enhance the educational scope and credibility of the University. APC looks forward to continued expansion of the Data Center University initiative, as we believe that it will ultimately lead to a more knowledgeable, qualified pool of data center experts. This institution can help address the critical shortage of qualified data center professionals in the industry,” said Adisorn.
Data Center University by APC courses give IT professionals, engineers, facilities managers and others involved in NCPI, an unprecedented opportunity to broaden knowledge on a wide variety of topics related to data center design and management. Individuals can complete most of the courses in less than one hour and the courses are self-paced. The Data Center University by APC program also will offer certification paths beginning in the fourth quarter of 2006.
