“Phaser 8500/8550” Color Printer and “WorkCentre C2424” Multifunction Printer
Fuji Xerox Printers (FXP) has launched new Solid Ink printers, the Phaser 8500/8550 and WorkCentre C2424, which lead the market in print quality, speed, ease of use, functionalities and price. These new printers are designed for small to mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) and departmental workgroup in large sized corporations.
Mr. Vincent Sim, Marketing Manager ASEAN, Fuji Xerox Printer, said the company has introduced the Phaser 8500/8550 and WorkCentre C2424, which incorporate the proprietary color technology from FXP. These printers deliver superior print quality and vibrant, true colors with minimal wastage.
These printers come with solid ink technology, easy-to-use feature and proper color for printing, solid ink accepts a wide variety of print media. With this technology, ink will penetrate into paper instead of spreading or coating onto the paper, so the output has a high quality and vivid color.
Solid ink printing produces 90% less waste than laser printing, giving it a much lower environmental impact. Solid ink printers have two consumable item, compared to numerous consumables in color laser printers. The result is dramatic: after 100,000 prints, a color laser can produce 157 pounds of waste (71 kgs.), while a solid ink printer produces only 5 pounds.(2 kgs.) Apart from reducing environmental impact, this technology supports nearly all kinds of print media, so it is widely used for printing industry and graphic applications.”

The Phaser 8500/8550 boasts industry leading speeds with a first page out time of six seconds for Phaser 8500 and five seconds for Phaser 8550, three times faster than most competing brands. Phaser 8500 prints color at 24ppm while Phaser 8550 prints color at 30ppm. With 2400 FinePointTM image enhancement technology, the Phaser 8550 provide fast quality prints on a wide range of media for professional desktop printing. Customers also get more with
the standard and optional paper input trays, higher media flexibility, higher duty cycle, faster controllers, and proactive help tools. The recommending selling price of the Phaser 8500/8550 starts at 63,800 Baht.
The WorkCentre C2424 supporting A4 paper with a variety of functions - printing copying and scanning. Its standard features include 40GB of internal hard drive, automatic duplex printing, and Network 10/100 Base TX. This new series comes in three models - WorkCentre C2424DN with standard features, WorkCentre C2424DP with 525-sheet tray and 512MB RAM, and WorkCentre C2424DX with bundled management software including ScanSoft, OmniPage Pro 12.0, PaperPort 9.0 and Image Retriever. The recommending selling price of the WorkCentre C2424 starts at 148,000 Baht.
Mr. Rangsan outlined the company’s marketing strategy for solid ink printers, saying, “In the past, solid ink printers were too expensive for SMEs, but today FXP has adjusted its price to be the same level of solid ink printers, making them affordable for SMEs. Our solid ink printers are competitive with color laser printers in terms of pricing, cost-per-page, and printing speed. And most importantly, they are friendlier to environment and help reduce pollution in the long run.”
For the distribution of both solid ink printer, will be sold pass through its sole distributor, SIS Distribution PLC.
