Herbalife Sets Fundraising Goal of $1 Million for Tsunami Relief Efforts

Bangkok--Jan 25--Spark Communications

Herbalife Ltd. has announced a fundraising effort with a goal of US $1 million (Bt40 million) to donate to tsunami disaster relief efforts. The Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF), a non-profit organization created to assist children in need, has set up a special fund to accept donations, which will be donated to two international organizations – Save the Children and SOS Children’s Villages – that focus on the needs of children. Herbalife will collect donations from employees and distributors by giving ten cents (Bt.1) from every one dollar (Bt40) donated to Herbalife Family Foundation earmarked for the "Tsunami Relief" fund - until its campaign goal is reached. Both beneficiary organizations are already well established in the affected regions. Save the Children has supported the emergency and long-term needs of some of the region's poorest children and families for over 30 years. They include teams on-the-ground in many of the most damaged areas, including Indonesia’s Aceh Province, delivering fuel, supplies, temporary shelter materials and food, especially for children under five years of age. SOS Children's Villages has been the HFF focus in India for six years. SOS staff are currently in Nagapattinam, India, working in tents to provide first aid and move in additional resources to help the children, many of whom lost their parents in the tsunami. For those who are interested, online donations can be made at the Herbalife Family Foundation secure website at www.herbalifefamily.org Local cash donations can be made directly to Herbalife International (Thailand), Orakarn Building, Ground Floor, Soi Chidlom, Ploenchit, Bangkok.
