The event will be held on November 19, 2003 from 9 am to 2 pm on 2nd floor at Bumrungrad Hospital. Prof. Dr. Yongyudh Ploysongsang, Bumrungrad Hospital's Pulmonologist and the National Leader of COPD public awareness campaign for Thailand, will be on hand for consultations. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a leading cause of death worldwide and in Thailand is the 5th most common cause of death. COPD is a chronic lung disease characterized by breathlessness, cough, and sputum production. It reduces airflow intake into the bronchial tubes and is not fully reversible with bronchodilators. COPD makes breathing difficult, causes weakness, and severely restricts mobility.Smoking is the single most common risk factor causing COPD.
