NEW YORK: Over $US 89 million has been raised for the September 11th Fund by The New York Community Trust and United Way to help the victims and families of those affected by last week's terrorist attacks in the United States, the organisations have announced. Major corporations and foundations have pledged almost $US 30 million of this in just three days, they said.

HONG KONG: Asian Internet stockbroker and financial technology firm, Boom, today announced the launch of a pan-Asian online trading platform, linking via a single account to all major Asian stock exchanges. The company expects this addition to double the size of its business, according to a press statement issued today.

HONG KONG: A MOU that will see the construction of science and business park projects across China and overseas, was signed today between China's Vision Century Investments Ltd and Tsinghua Science Park Development Centre, a media release said today. The facility would have a gross floor area of 50,000 sq.m and would be located on the Tsinghua University Campus.

FRANKFURT: An exhibition on the Euro currency - The Euro: Our Money - will be hosted at Frankfurt Airport from September 19 to January 13, supported by the State of Hesse Central Bank and Germany's Bundesbank, airport owner-operators Fraport AG announced today.

CAMBRIDGE: Two leading pharmaceutical companies - Bayer AG and Millenium Pharmaceuticals - today said over 140 "disease-relevant drug targets" had been flagged for development and screening. Six of these will be submitted to clinical testing, following successful tests on animals, the companies said.
