Frasers Property Thailand secures major built-to-suit agreement with Watsons Thailand for strategic distribution centre in Bangplee

The purpose-built facility, strategically positioned within Frasers Property Logistics Center Bangplee 4 in Samut Prakan province, will encompass more than 25,000 sqm of advanced logistics space. The facility will serve as Watsons' primary distribution hub, supporting its extensive network of over 750 retail stores across Thailand. This location was specifically chosen for its strategic advantages as a key logistics hub, offering optimal connectivity for nationwide distribution. The new facility is scheduled for completion in early 2026, with operations set to commence in April of the same year.

Mr. Peerapat Srisukont, Managing Director of the industrial business of FPT, said, "This builds upon our strong existing collaboration with Watsons, following Frasers Property Thailand's successful development of three distribution centres for Watsons on Bang Na-Trad road, Samut Prakan province; Mueang district, Khon Kaen province; and Wang Noi district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, totalling over 30,000 sqm. This demonstrates Frasers Property Thailand's extensive experience and expertise in logistics developments, with the capability to design adaptable spaces tailored to various business needs, setting new standards and enhancing supply chain management for Thailand's health and beauty market."

Strategically located in Bangplee, near Bangna-Trad Road, the facility offers exceptional connectivity to the central business district (CBD) and key regional areas, ensuring efficient delivery to Watsons retail network. The state-of-the-art distribution centre features advanced technical specifications, including a 15-metre-high vertical storage system with a robust floor load capacity of 5 tons per square metre. The facility incorporates versatile storage solutions, including racking systems, mezzanine floor, and specialized temperature-controlled rooms designed for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies. The infrastructure is also designed to accommodate future automation systems, positioning Watsons for enhanced operational efficiency.

Frasers Property Thailand has incorporated sustainability solutions into the building design to reduce the facility's carbon footprint, aligning with Watsons' commitment to sustainable business practices. This includes using recycled and sustainable materials for eco-friendly construction, installing solar rooftop panels for renewable energy generation, implementing smart meters for efficient energy monitoring and adjustment. The facility will also feature LED lighting, water-efficient sanitary fixtures, and a comprehensive sustainable waste management system.
