Mr. Ruangroj Poonpol, Group Chairman of KBTG, noted that the KBTG Kampus project was launched in 2022 to address Thailand's technological education challenges. To bridge the gap between industry and academia and foster a comprehensive technological education ecosystem, KBTG partnered with KMITL as the pilot institution to address these issues, with a focus on developing undergraduate programs to serve as a strong foundation for technological education.

Most recently, KBTG Kampus has taken another step forward by launching new master's programs in collaboration with three leading universities in Thailand. Co-developed by KBTG, the programs integrate real research to ensure real-world applications suitable for the present and future. They also focus on subjects instrumental in driving technological advancement, such as data analytics, artificial intelligence, and cyber security. The collaboration results in three master's programs:

  1. Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence for Business Analytics, School of Information Technology, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang
  2. Master of Science in Cyber Security and Information Assurance (International Program), Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University
  3. Master of Arts and Science Program in Interdisciplinary Studies, College of Interdisciplinary Studies, Thammasat University

Besides its role in curriculum co-development, KBTG will participate in the selection process for students entering the program and oversee the journey, nurturing students from day one to graduation. This initiative aims to support Thailand's technological education and the domestic IT industry via the development of new tech talents, thus reinforcing KBTG's position as a leading technology organization of Thailand. The announcement is accompanied by the MoUs signing ceremony with MU and TU. For more information on the master's programs and to apply, please visit https://kbtgkampus.tech/

The KBTG Kampus project currently consists of three main programs:

  1. KBTG Kampus ClassNest: This program involves collaboration with partners to design and develop bootcamp courses, building a new generation of tech professionals. Leading experts are selected as instructors to upskill IT enthusiasts of all genders and ages, helping hone their skills to be even more sought-after in today's job market, thus giving them more opportunities to work with leading tech firms. KBTG supports select candidates with scholarships, and graduates with qualified post-test scores can proceed directly to final-round interviews with KBTG. Since early 2024, KBTG Kampus ClassNest has organized seven Bootcamp courses, including Java & Go Software Engineering (two cohorts), Cyber Security (two cohorts), Infrastructure, and M.A.D. (Machine Learning, AI, Data) in partnership with top universities. The program has attracted more than 3,000 applicants, with more than 1,000 participants enrolled. At present, Cyber Security ClassNest #2 is open for application until November 17, 2024.
  2. KBTG Kampus Apprentice: This program offers third-year and fourth-year university students hands-on work experience and skill development through real-world projects at KBTG, under the guidance of experts and professional teams during the academic year. In partnership with the School of Information Technology, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, KBTG has piloted the Apprentice program and expanded it to other faculties and universities, allowing students to supplement classroom learning with approximately 2,000 hours of real-world experience. To date, more than 50 apprentices across various fields have joined the program at KBTG. KBTG Kampus has also extended the Apprentice program to the master's level in collaboration with three universities, serving as a pilot program for advanced studies with professional experience.
  3. KBTG Kampus Co-Research: This program extends the collaborative efforts of KBTG and leading universities both domestically and internationally, as well as government and private sector agencies, into technology research development. The focus is to offer opportunities to innovate and drive new 'S-curve' businesses, enhancing capabilities and propelling deep tech research from academia into the real world, progressing into impactful products and services for users region-wide.

Universities and other educational institutions aiming to cultivate high-potential tech talent and develop EdTech platforms, and other groups interested in advancing Thailand's tech industry or co-developing industry-relevant programs, are welcome to join in these efforts to elevate the tech education ecosystem.
