After the success of Komkrit Sawatdirom’s contemporary ‘Enlightenment’ collection last month, Gossip Gallery is inviting art lovers to join a journey in search of the Lord Buddha’s true ‘Wisdom’ through an exploration of the contemporary works of Paramat Lueng-on. The exhibition by the award winning artist will be on view from now until Feb. 27th, 2010 at Gossip Gallery @Silom Galleria.
Following a theme similar to Khun Komkrit, Paramat Lueng-on illustrates the principles of ‘Wisdom’ as preached by the Lord Buddha in his collection which consists of eight acrylic paintings. Since the Lord Buddha’s teachings emphasize that life is represented by a series of contracts, the obvious conclusion that follows is that suffering is also a part of our lives. This fact cannot be denied, but the impact can be minimized if wisdom is employed. The Lord Buddha once said that ‘the path to end suffering is known as the middle way.’ Inspired by this philosophy, Khun Paramat utilizes tranquil but compelling colors in his works in an attempt to minimize the impact of suffering and create his ‘middle way’.
Besides the exquisite works by this talented artist, the general public will have a chance to pay homage to a replica of Phra Phuttha Chinnarath, a well-known Buddha statue from Phitsanulok era.’ (This replica of Phra Phutta Chinnarath, provided by Laemthong Amulet Center @ 3rd Floor, Silom Galleria, is considered rare and priceless.)
