MSD Thailand appoints new managing director

MSD (Thailand) Ltd., a Thai subsidiary of Merck & Co., Inc. a global research-driven pharmaceutical company, has announced the appointment of Jordan Ter as Managing Director, effective from 9 February 2009. Mr. Ter has a Bachelor degree in Applied Science from Curtain University, Australia. With more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry across many markets in Asia including Thailand, he brings to his new role, a depth of leadership, strategic growth, developing emerging markets and impressive track record of driving performance and talent management. Before joining MSD Thailand, Jordan Ter was Managing Director for MSD Taiwan since 2005. Jordan implemented a new business model focusing on Key Accounts to optimize the management of the complex hospital sector. Jordan earned the respect and trust of his colleagues with the strong operational focus he has brought to the business. Prior to that, Jordan was Managing Director for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals responsible for Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Indochina markets. From 2000-2003, he worked in Taiwan as President for Pharmacia. Earlier in his career, Jordan held positions of managing director in various Asian countries as well as regional marketing for Pharmacia and Upjohn. Jordan plans to continue to work towards MSD’s mission to provide society with superior products and services by developing innovations and solutions that improve the quality of life and satisfy customer needs, and to provide employees with meaningful work and advancement opportunities.
