AUTO ALLIANCE THAILAND EXPORTS SURPASS 30,000 UNITS IN 2001, WORTH MORE THAN 11.4 BILLION BAHT
Bangkok--Oct 29--AutoAlliance Thailand
AutoAlliance Thailand (Co.) Ltd. – the Mazda-Ford joint vehicle assembly plant located
in Rayong province – announced that it exported 30,334 vehicles in the first nine months of 2001,
with a combined export value of more than 11.4 billion baht.
On a quarterly basis, AAT’s exports in the third quarter were up seven percent compared to the
9,566 vehicles exported in the previous quarter. Total exports in 2001 are broken down into 14,550
Ford Rangers, and 15,784 Mazda Fighters.
For September 2001, AutoAlliance exported 2,806 vehicles worth more than 1 billion baht.
These exports included 1,483 Ford Rangers and 1,323 Mazda Fighters. The largest export markets
for the Ford Ranger and Mazda Fighter pickups are Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia,
and the Middle East.
Since AAT launched export operation in December 1998, total exports have reached 124,302 vehicles,
worth more than 46 billion baht. The AutoAlliance plant in Rayong has achieved both ISO 9002 and
ISO 14001 certification, as well as meeting QS 9000 standards. The company encourages all of its
suppliers to achieve the same quality standards to ensure that it delivers high-quality products
to the world.
