Ford Sales and Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd., announced that it sales in the first ten months of 2001 reach 14,144 units, up 8 percent compared to Ford’s sales during the same period last year. Recently, JD Power’s 2001 Thailand Initial Quality Study shows that Ford’s sales and delivery process are the best rated by customers, and to requite an obligation Ford announces the 2.9 percent reduced interest rate with one-year free first class insurance to its customers.
“The Ford Ranger has been named the best quality pickup in Thailand with two consecutive JD Power awards, which shows our dedication, commitment and focus on our customers,” said Mr. Komkrit Nongsawat, Marketing Communications and Advertising Manager at Ford Sales and Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd. “For this, we are very grateful to customers, who put their trust in Ford.”
To show it’s appreciation to Ford customers, Ford is now offering a special campaign with 2.9 percent interest and a one-year free first class insurance, according to Mr. Komkrit.
In October 2001, Ford sold 1,110 vehicles, giving Ford a 4.6 percent share of the total market. Ford Ranger earned a 7.7 percent share of the pickup truck market, or 1,049 units, while the Ford sold 61 units of the Laser sedan, up 13 percent compared to the same month in 2000.
During the first ten months this year, Ford’ sales reached 14,144 vehicles, an increase of 8.2 percent compared to 13,068 units sold during the same period last year. In the one-ton pickup truck segment, Ford’s market share has reached 13,612 units, or 10.8 percent of the segment. This figure represents an increase of 11 percent compared with 12,273 units from the same period last year.
Ford is now preparing a special financing package to its customers starting from this month until after the end of Thailand International Motor Expo 2001 at IMPACT Exhibition Center in Muang Thong Thani in December 2001. “We met quite a large number of new customers at the last year’s show, and we plan to do even better this year,” said Mr. Komkrit.
Total Thai industry sales in October 2001 were 24,319 vehicles, up 15 percent compared with 21,126 vehicles sold during the same period last year. Total industry vehicle sales from January to October reached 233,379 units, up 13.5 percent compared to the 205,565 vehicles sold in 2000. End
