AUTO ALLIANCE THAILAND EXPORTS MORE THAN 3,900 UNITS IN OCTOBER, AN INCREASE OF 41.8 PERCENT

Bangkok--Nov 28--AutoAlliance Thailand AutoAlliance Thailand (Co.) Ltd. – the Mazda-Ford joint vehicle assembly plant located in Rayong province – announced that it exported 34,314 vehicles in the first ten months of 2001, with a combined export value of more than 12.9 billion baht. AAT exports in October alone totaled 3,980 vehicles, worth more than 1.54 billion baht, an increase of 41.8 percent compared to last month. These exports included 1,852 Ford Rangers and 2,128 Mazda Fighters. The largest export markets for the Ford Ranger and Mazda Fighter pickups are Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, covered more than 100 countries around the world. AAT’s total exports of 34,314 vehicles in the first ten months of 2001, worth more than 12.9 billion baht. Total exports in 2001 are broken down into 16,402 Ford Rangers and 17,912 Mazda Fighters. Since AAT launched export operation in December 1998, total exports have reached 128,282 vehicles, and earnings have surpassed 47 billion baht. The AutoAlliance plant in Rayong has achieved both ISO 9002 and ISO 14001 certification, as well as meeting QS 9000 standards.
