AAT VEHICLE EXPORTS WORTH 7.6 BILLION BAHT FOR THE FIRST SIX MONTHS OF 2001

Bangkok--Jul 23--AutoAlliance Thailand AutoAlliance Thailand (Co.) Ltd. – the Mazda-Ford joint vehicle assembly plant located in Rayong province – said that its vehicle exports in June 2001 reached 3,738 units, valued at more than 1.4 billion baht. AutoAlliance 's June exports were shared between the Ford Ranger pickup (1,714 units) and the Mazda Fighter pick up (2,024 units) for a total of 3,738 units. Major export destinations are Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the Mediterranean. For the first six months of the year, total vehicle exports from AAT reached 20,110 units, worth approximately 7.6 billon baht. Exports of the Ford Ranger reached 9,790 units while exports of the Mazda Fighter reached 10,320 units. AutoAlliance launched vehicle export operations in December 1998. Since then, total exports have reached 114,078 vehicles, with export revenue exceeding 42 billion baht. As a result, AutoAlliance has established itself as the second largest vehicle exporter in Thailand. The AutoAlliance plant in Rayong has achieved both ISO 9002 and ISO 14001 certification, as well as meeting QS 9000 standards.
