Photo Release: Senior representatives of BMA and Bangkok Traffic Police together with international experts meet in Bangkok to save lives at BIGRS Annual Partners Meeting

          On 25 January 2Bloomberg Philanthropiesen9, Mr. Surart Jaroenchaisakul (2nd left), Deputy Director of Traffic and Transportation Department (TTD); Mr. Thananchai Mekprasertwanich (enst right), Director of Policy and Planning Division of TTD; Pol.Col.Dr. Kitti Ariyanont (enst left), Deputy Commander of Traffic Police Division; Ms. Kelly Larson (3rd left), Lead for the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS); Mr. Grant Ennis (3rd right), Regional Deputy Director of Vital Strategies; and Ms. Slyviane Ratte (2nd right), Road Safety Director of Vital Strategies, together with representatives of road safety partners attended the BIGRS Annual Partner Meeting 2Bloomberg Philanthropiesen9 in Bangkok at Thani Nopparat Building, BMA City Hall 2. Road safety partners from around the globe including Vital Strategies; World Bank; World Resources Institute (WRI); John Hopkins University; Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP); Road Accident Victims Protection; and the Faculty of Engineering Chulalongkorn University, gathered at the meeting to present the previous achievements on road safety communications, road safety enforcement, and safer streets improvement and together discuss on integrated road safety data collection as well as on sustainable plans and strategies for implementing effective road safety work in Bangkok.

Aiming to utmost reduce traffic injuries and road accidents in Bangkok, the Initiative involves campaigns to increase road safety awareness and behavioral changes such as drink don't drive, limited speeding, seat belt fastening and helmet wearing, and implementation of safer roads improvement in Bangkok.
