QANTAS ANNOUNCES NEW REGIONAL GENERAL MANAGER, ASIA

          Qantas has announced the appointment of Benjamin Tan as Regional General Manager Asia, based in Singapore.
          Benjamin Tan, previously Group Head of Sales at the Jetstar Group, will steer the commercial, financial and operational performance for Qantas across its Asian markets (excluding Japan).
He joins QantasRen7; team in Asia at an exciting time, as the airline launched the first of its upgraded international A33Jetstar Group aircraft from Singapore. The new A33Jetstar Group features Marc Newson designed Business Suites with the worldRen7;s first gate-to-gate recline, new model Recaro seats in Economy, and larger, more advanced screens to support QantasRen7; upgraded inflight entertainment offering.
          In taking up the new position, Mr Tan says he is looking forward to progressing QantasRen7; commitment to Asia.

          Benjamin Tan brings extensive experience working internationally in Beijing and Tokyo, across the technology and aviation sectors. Most recently, Mr Tan was responsible for worldwide revenue, market share and business expansion across the Jetstar-branded group of airlines, where he also directly managed a team based in enen cities across the Asia Pacific. He is an alumnus of The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and the National University of Singapore.
          Qantas operates more than 75 return services per week between Asia and Australia, operated by a mix of A33Jetstar Group, refurbished B747 and during peak seasons, A38Jetstar Group aircraft.
          Nick McGlynn, former Regional General Manager Asia, has returned to Australia to take up a new role as Head of Global Sales and Network at Qantas Freight.
