Bangchak has partnered with Freewill Solutions to implement an electronic health (e-health) system in accordance with their principles of good corporate governance in providing healthcare for their employees. The e-health system includes physical examinations where the results are automatically saved in a database and published as a health record book for all employees. A health report is also sent to the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare as required by law.
Wattana Opanon-amata, Senior Executive Vice President Corporate Administration and Information Technology, Bangchak Petroleum PCL, said that Bangchak gives high importance to the management of healthcare, safety and the environment. It is the direct responsibility of senior executives and all employees to conduct work in a safe manner so as to not to bring harm to oneself and others. In addition, the e-health system also complies with the policy of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, set in 2004, which sets out the regulations and methods of monitoring the health of employees, while also sending the health report to the Department’s regulators.
“In order to make our human resource management system more efficient and convenient for our employees we have improved our working process and implemented an IT system, where we consulted Freewill Solutions, who helped further develop the system to become more comprehensive” Wattana states.
The system covers all of the processes related to employee health records, from defining work risks, listing of relating physical examination, and compiling the records of medical treatment by the professional doctors based at Bangchak head quarters and the other three upcountry offices in Chiang Mai, Khonkaen, and Suratthani, as well as the refinery at Bang Pa In. In addition, the system calculates the availability of medicine at the company infirmary. Lastly the system issues a physical examination record book for employees who can keep track of their physical examination record and care from the infirmary staff via an ESS (Employee Self Service) online system.
Dr. Veera Veerakool, Chief Executive Officer, Freewill Solutions Co., Ltd, stated that “Freewill has expertise in developing and designing systems such as this. It is based on PeopleSoft system which Bangchak is currently using for their HR Management. We have a team of professionals who provide close support to our customers all the way till handing over the completed system, while fully training company staff to use the system to its maximum capabilities.”
