TA Orange, Thailand's leading wirefree operator, has unveiled an innovative new data service for stock market investors. The service, "take stock", was developed in concert with Freewill Solutions, a leading content provider for e-business and the major source of tailor-made solutions for Thai securities brokerages and insurance firms.
The unique "take stock" application leverages the multimedia capabilities of the recently launched Orange SPV handset - which runs a Microsoft Windows-based operating system and programs - to offer investors exclusive stock market information. Of particular importance to them will be the way the "take stock" presents graphics, charts, tables and other information in a format that mimics the actual display on the stock market trading floor.
Orange's "take stock" service is the first of its kind in Thailand because, by using the high-tech capabilities of the multimedia SPV handset, it is able to present data in a rich, user-friendly format that utilizes graphics and charts, not simply text. Using "take stock" investors and traders can access exclusive, real time stock market information, including the stock calendar, stock alerts, stock quotes, market indicators, the best and worst performing stocks and the most active stocks and sectors, all at the touch of a couple of buttons.
"Orange is proud to have another opportunity to demonstrate its industry leadership by unveiling the 'take stock' service," said Khun Apirak Kosayodhin, Co-CEO of TA Orange. "The recent launch of the SPV handset fuelled the growing trend towards the use of non-voice services. Today we are demonstrating the real potential of the SPV by launching a ground-breaking non-voice service developed specifically to meet the needs of Orange SPV users who are investors."
The "take stock" service is being targeted at corporate SPV users who are also stock investors. It is available exclusively to the customers of 19 leading securities brokerages who used Freewill's Real Time Stock Trading Solutions in Thailand - about 10,000 people. Those securities brokerages include Bua Luang Securities Co., Ltd., DBS Vickers Securities (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Sicco Securities PCL., Credit Suisse First Boston Securities (Thailand) Ltd., Yuanta Securities (Thailand) Co., Ltd., KGI Securities (Thailand) PCL., National Securities Co., Ltd., HSBC Securities (Thailand) Ltd., Trinity Securities Co., Ltd., SCB Securities Co., Ltd., Syrus Securities Ltd., Globlex Securities Co., Ltd., UOB Kay Hian Securities (Thailand) Co., Ltd., ING Securities (Thailand) Co., Ltd., JP Morgan Securities (Thailand) Co., Ltd., BNP Paribas Peregrine Securities (Thailand) Ltd., CLSA Securities (Thailand) Ltd., Global Thai Securities Ltd. and Barclays Capital (Thailand) Ltd. The "take stock" service also allows these investors to complete their stock trades more efficiently. After viewing market data on their SPV they can simply, by pressing a couple of buttons, use the handset to call their broker.
Khun Norachet Sangruji, Chief Executive Officer of Freewill Solutions, said "take stock" brings together TA Orange's in-depth understanding of customers' needs, extensive network coverage and innovative SPV smartphone with Freewill Solutions' expertise in designing systems for securities brokers. It is a winning combination and the result is today's launch of Thailand's first application designed specifically for investors".
"The Freewill Solutions team tremendously enjoyed working with a market leader like TA Orange and I expect that as a result of our cooperation several more exciting solutions will come to the market soon - so keep your eyes and ears open!"
Freewill Solutions is the developer of "take stock" which is part of the many modules in web based real time trading solutions. "take stock" is an example of one of the unique strengths of TA Orange, our synergy with other companies in the CP group," said Khun Apirak. "This is just the latest example of our drive and commitment to give our customers the customized and personalized service they need. Its this total customer focus that gives us confidence that 'the future's bright, the future's Orange'.
The Orange SPV is now available through seven Orange shops in Bangkok; Future Park Rangsit, U Chu Liang Building, Siam Discovery, Central Bangna, The Mall Bangkae, Central Ladprao and the United Center Building at the price of 20,900 baht (inclusive of camera, SD Card, synchronization cradle, headset and leather case).
