Photo Release: BIG to boost Thailand First Mini Blast Furnace to a subsidiary of giant TATA Steel

(fourth from left) and Dr.Pichit Nithivasin President of Bangkok Industrial Gas Co., Ltd. or BIG (third from right) together with both companies’ executives have celebrated for Growing BIG Together in the occasion of O2 supply to NTS' Mini Blast Furnace at Dynasty, Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok recently. BIG has supplied industrial gases to NTS for over 10 years and NTS has shown its strong confidence in BIG by providing an opportunity to BIG for the long-term supply of industrial gas for its Mini Blast Furnace project which is an important expansion not only for NTS but also Thailand since it is the FIRST Blast Furnace in the country. The production process shall use iron ore and coking coal as raw material while O2 will be used for increasing efficiency of the process. The molten iron from this process will be input in Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) and will result higher steel quality than typical scrap melting in EAF. Click for photo release at www.thaipr.net
