IPSTAR Australia Pty Ltd. (IPA), a fully owned subsidiary of Shin Satellite Plc.—Asia’s leading satellite operator—today announced that it has achieved a deployment rate of 1,000 subscribers per month in Australia since August and is expecting to reach 2,000 new subscribers per month by the end of this year. This brings the total number of satellite user terminals provided by Shin Satellite to over 50,000 in the Asia-Pacific Region.

This speaks well of the quality of our IPSTAR services and the capability to deploy and support our customers of our operations in Australia.”
Shin Satellite launched the world's largest commercial satellite on 11 August 2005 and has successfully introduced true broadband via satellite ever since. IPA was established in December 2003 and has its headquarters located in Sydney. Two IPSTAR Gateways were constructed in Kalgoorie and Broken Hill with a total capacity of over 7 Gigabytes per second (Gbps)—more than enough to support 600,000 broadband users based on today's usage profile.
