Nonthaburi, Thailand. Shin Satellite Plc. is introducing today its new premium rack-mounted IPSTAR satellite modem called the “Enterprise Series IPX-9200”, which will be sold along with the current Professional Series. The New Enterprise Series IPX-9200’ s form factor is an industry standard 19” rack that can be easily connected to a network of PCs or other network equipment. The company said this new model adds more features that are suited for rugged environments, rural applications, heavy duty applications such as Corporate use, Mobile Trunking and continuous or unmanned operations. The maximum speed of the satellite modem is 4 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload, making it suitable for many broadband applications, from reliable VoIP services to video conferencing and broadcast quality Satellite News Gathering (SNG) services. The THAICOM-4 (IPSTAR)’s footprint serves 14 countries in the Asia Pacific Region, of which, there are many areas that do not have stable power supply and are prone to power surges that can be harmful to electronic equipment. The new IPSTAR Enterprise Series provides extra surge protection circuitry to overcome even the most severe power fluctuations. In addition, apart from being physically robust, it is designed with excellent heat dissipation with dust filters to meet the harsh demands of the customers’ environment. The front cover also features an LCD panel that can be used to control and monitor the equipment without the need of a PC. “Although the THAICOM-4 (IPSTAR) satellite is already operational, we continue to develop new broadband satellite products and applications to cater for various target markets as we expand, such as the introduction of the new Enterprise Series IPX-9200. We are committed to developing new User Terminal products in the future as part of our road map as it is a critical part of the overall IPSTAR platform.” Said Patompob Suwansiri, Head of Marketing. The new IPSTAR Enterprise Series IPX 9200 is available now in all IPSTAR markets.
