MEDIA BRIEFING ADVISORY
Invitation to Attend an AirAsia - Galileo Launch &
Media Conference
AirAsia, Asia’s leading and largest low fare airline, and Galileo International, the leading global distribution services (GDS) company and subsidiary of Cendant Travel Distribution Services (TDS), cordially invite members of the print and broadcast media to attend a Media Conference to announce a significant marketing agreement between Galileo and AirAsia. The agreement opens up access to AirAsia fares to worldwide travel agents exclusively through Galileo’s electronic global distribution service, Galileo Flight Integrator. Prior to this, consumers and agents could make bookings on AirAsia only via the internet or phone calls direct to the carrier. This new distribution channel dramatically expands AirAsia’s reach, providing access to a much broader travel agency community.
The briefing provides an opportunity for members of the press to learn the reasons why AirAsia has made the move towards GDS platform and how GDS platforms can support the newest channel for low cost carrier distribution.
