A free Copenhagen Card will be offered to all passengers travelling to Copenhagen, Denmark with SAS Scandinavian Airlines operated flights in April and May 2009. The offer extends to all SAS passengers travelling to the Danish capital on a return ticket from Bangkok. Ticket prices start from THB 33,400 (excluding taxes and surcharges).
The Copenhagen Card grants free admission for 24 hours to 62 museums and sites in the greater Copenhagen area, including the Hans Christian Andersen and Karen Blixen museums. For the first time, Copenhagen Card-holders will also get free admission to Tivoli Gardens, a beautifully landscaped amusement park in the heart of Copenhagen.
"With free admission to many of Copenhagen's best attractions, we hope our passengers will see more of what this wonderful city has to offer," says Scandinavian Airlines' Bangkok-based Director and General Manager for Southeast Asia, Mr Hakan Olsson. "The Copenhagen Card is a great initiative that goes hand in hand with our continuous effort to introduce innovative travel solutions. Passengers will also gain a better understanding of the Scandinavian culture and heritage they encounter in our airport lounges and onboard our aircrafts."
Card-holders will receive discounts of up to 20 percent at participating restaurants and on car rentals. And for quick transport from Copenhagen Airport to the city centre, card-holders ride free on the Metro. Once card-holders have reached the city centre, they'll have 24 hours free transport on all buses and suburban S trains within the greater Copenhagen area.
"It's an exciting initiative for SAS passengers and will increase awareness of the Copenhagen Card and the many possibilities Copenhagen has to offer. We hope that a lot of passengers will take advantage of this offer," says Marianne Skafte, Sales and Marketing Manager with Wonderful Copenhagen, the tourist board of Copenhagen.
SAS passengers can pick-up their free Copenhagen Card from the Service Centre in Terminal 3, Copenhagen Airport by presenting their SAS return e-ticket from Bangkok. The card gives one adult and two accompanying children free admission and discounts to the city's sites.
A comprehensive guide in English, German or Danish, a Copenhagen city map and detailed information on the museums and attractions are included.

Scandinavian Airlines
Scandinavian Airlines carries some 1.4 million passengers per year. The fleet consists of Airbus A330s and A340s, serving 11 destinations: New York, Chicago, Washington, Seattle, Bangkok, Delhi, Beijing, Tokyo, Dubai, Copenhagen and Stockholm.
Scandinavian Airlines is the Northern Europe's largest airline focusing on services, reliability, and simplicity. We fly five weekly flights from Bangkok to Copenhagen in summer and six flights a week in winter. Our extensive network provides convenient connections to Scandinavian and European destinations from Copenhagen airport.
Onboard SAS' modern and spacious Airbus A340s, there are a number of specific features, for example, personal entertainment screens across all classes. SAS is also one of few airlines to offer a premium economy product, Economy Extra. In a separate cabin, Economy Extra passengers enjoy wider and more comfortable seats than in Economy, extended meal services, Business class check-in and priority boarding. SAS Business Sleeper offers the highest levels of comfort with lie-flat seats, the popular buffet bar with drinks, snacks and espresso machine, and a spacious restroom with feature windows.
SAS has introduced a new fare structure offering simplicity, flexibility and better value for money. New lower-priced Fixed tickets reward early bookings. Flexible tickets can be either changed or refunded at a cost. And Fully Flexible tickets offer passengers tickets with no restrictions. Best of all, we offer full combinability -- the possibility to mix the three service classes and the three fare types of your choice.
Background
Operations to Bangkok were commenced in 1949. In 1959, SAS co-founded Thai Airways International Ltd., with the Thai Government through Airways Co., Ltd. (TAC) holding 70% shares and SAS 30%. SAS supplied aircraft, management and training to the Thais in order to build THAI into an international reputable airline. SAS's 30% shareholding was released back to Thai Government in 1977, but the close co-operation has continued. Both SAS and THAI are founding members of Star Alliance, comprising 20 international world-class airlines.
