DHL Thailand along with over 15,000 DHL employees drive large-scale volunteerism initiative across Asia Pacific

DHL, the world’s leading express and logistics company, today announced the launch of ‘DHL Volunteer Day’ in Thailand, a community outreach programme involving over 15,000 employees across Asia Pacific to encourage the spirit of volunteerism among employees. In Thailand, DHL staffs from three business units comprising of DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Exel Supply Chain will volunteer to work together as a team to support underprivileged children in need of love and care. The “DHL Volunteer Day” project will hold two volunteer activities on the same day. About 350 DHL staff will join volunteer work at Wat Bothvoradit in Angtong and another 150 will participate in similar activities at the Rangsit Home for Babies in Pathumthani. “Corporate sustainability is one of the DHL’s commitments that our staff embrace. As a result, we encourage all DHL staff to participate in local volunteer activities. For the “DHL Volunteer Day” project in Thailand, we are focused on helping underprivileged children who are part of our nation’s future,” Thomas Tieber, Senior Vice President- South Asia, DHL Global Forwarding said “The DHL Volunteer Day project also encourages volunteerism among DHL staff and their collaboration will greatly benefit those children,” he added. More than 15,000 employees in over 20 countries in Asia Pacific jointly volunteer time and effort towards various local causes for five days from 6 to 10 August. “In Thailand, we volunteer to support underprivileged children at Wat Bothworadit in Angtong Province and Rangsit Home for Babies in Pathumthani Province. These initiatives follow the company’s Corporate Sustainability Programme – a three-pronged approach towards the Environment, Social Responsibility and Employees.
