To mark an official state visit of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand to the Russian Federation and commemorate the Thai – Russian 110th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) will be hosting a THAI Night grand reception where meals prepared by THAI Catering Services on Thursday 12th July 2007 at the Renaissance in Moscow. The event aims to create greater awareness among the Russian people of the unique Thai culture and tradition as well as to promote business and inter-trade opportunities between Russia and Thailand. Over 200 guests are invited including dignitaries and high profile Russian and Thai trade partners.

The event brings together Thai and Russian businessmen creating relationship and opportunities to build up business network between two countries. Also presents at the evening event are H.E. Mrs. Pismai Chandrubeksa, THAI’s Managing Director, Catering Department reveals special menus for THAI Night Gala Dinner which are carefully selected, well-known and are Russian’s favorites including Yum Som-O (spicy pomelo salad with shrimp) as a starter followed by Tom Yum Gung (spicy & sour prawns soup with lemongrass), Chuchee Pla Salmon (salmon fillet in chuchee curry stir fried mixed vegetables in oyster sauce and steamed jasmine rice) as the main course and a traditional Thai sweets desert Kao Mao Tod (deep fried banana nuggets with vanilla ice-cream). Delicious Thai snacks such as deep fried minced shrimp in toast, grilled pork satay and deep fried pork wrapped with egg noodle will also be served. These menus made from best ingredients cooked with combination of East and West especially for Russian. THAI Catering Services Department plans to increase revenue for the company and Thailand with new business by providing catering services for national event and world event. In the past THAI Catering Services Department had participated in selling food in World Expo 2005 at Aiji, Nagoya, Japan and had served at APEC 2004 that Thailand was a host country.
THAI Catering has been honored to receive the confidence of the Thai Government to produce meals for athletes and working group members during the 13th Asian Games 1998, which Thailand was the host country. As well, THAI also provided catering services to handicapped athletes from various countries around the world during the FESPIC Games 1998. Furthermore, in 2004, THAI Catering provided catering services for 20,000 people from around the world who attended the Lions Club Conference in the Sattahip district of Chonburi provice, when Thailand was the host country. THAI Catering will also arrange meals and beverages for over 10,000 athletes and working group members from various countries in 24th Summer International University Sports Competition 2007 during 8-18 August 2007, Thailand.
In addition to the authentic Thai cuisine, THAI is working in close cooperation with the Rose Garden in organizing Thai classical and Folk performances to depict Thai culture and traditions, portraying various aspects of Thai people such as Kinnaree Hunsa and Thai Boxing.
Mr. Runagyos Pamon-Montri, THAI’s Director, Europe and Africa Region Department states that THAI has been operating flight to DOMODEDOVO three flights per week since 1 November 2004, utilizing Boeing 777-200ER, which appeal to traders transporting goods and products to and from Russia. The new generation of middle-class Russians have increasingly higher spending power and travel on long-haul flights for holidays spent overseas with family and friends. This group of Russian passengers is a target market that THAI will serve on this route, making the new operation to and from Moscow a forthcoming success in serving air travel needs of Russian passengers. As numbers of Russian are growing in Thailand, THAI has decided to add one more flight in this coming winter schedule from 3 flights per week to 4 flights per week. This is to emphasize on relationship between Thailand and Russia since 1897 during the reign of King Rama 5 until present. To support more on Russian travel, Russian visa is not required for Thai passport holder within the limits of 30 days stay in the country.
