Siemens Communications has been positioned in the Leader’s Quadrant within Gartner Inc.’s Unified Communications Magic Quadrant1. According to Gartner Inc., leaders are vendors that are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market. Additionally, Gartner stated that “vendors must have market share and mindshare in their core areas of competency”.
Siemens has adopted a strategy on unified communications since the launch of HiPath OpenScape in 2003. This strategy is based around its LifeWorks@Com concept, integrating the technologies, devices and applications used by enterprises and carriers to create a homogenous communications environment, regardless of time, place, device or network. The outcome is a smarter, presence-based way of working and the payback includes a boost to productivity and profitability, as well as a reduction of stress in the workplace.
Part of the Siemens LifeWorks@Com concept, HiPath OpenScape is a comprehensive unified communications solution built on open standards, enabling it to integrate easily with Microsoft’s Live Communication Server (LCS) and other third party conferencing and collaboration solutions.
Commenting on the report, Bernd Kuhlin, President Enterprise Systems at Siemens Communications, said: “We believe this report confirms our vision of LifeWorks@Com and the stance that Siemens has adopted on unified communications, since the launch of HiPath OpenScape in 2003.
Our HiPath OpenScape solution was developed in close conjunction with Microsoft. Further to that, we have also recently signed a global alliance with Microsoft to jointly market and sell solutions in exactly this space”, Kuhlin explained.
